LJP leader Chirag Paswan On Saturday he went to X to express his outrage after learning that a plaque that was on his father’s body Ram Vilas PaswanThe name ‘s was used to cover a drain in Hajipur, Bihar, a constituency that the former Union Minister represented eight times since 1977. The plaque, originally installed at the hostel of the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), had been used to cover a broken gutter inside the women’s hostel on the institute’s premises.
Speaking to X, Chirag Paswan condemned the incident, calling it “extremely unfortunate”.
“I received information through media and fellow journalists that the nameplate of my leader, my father, has been misused in Hajipur, which is extremely unfortunate. After coming to know about this matter, I spoke to the local district administration and officials of CIPET institute for immediate action,” Paswan wrote.
“I have ordered that the plaque be put back in a respectable place and that such an incident should not be repeated. I cannot tolerate insulting my leader under any circumstances and whoever is found guilty of this incident will be punished at all costs,” he added.
The plaque commemorates the inauguration of the hostel by Ram Vilas Paswan on September 26, 2007, when he was the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers under the Manmohan Singh government.
