Ratlam School is competing for the award funded by London-based T4 Education, an official said on Friday. The MP government has established CM RISE schools across the state to offer high-quality and comprehensive education. MP School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh congratulated the school for its achievement. The school is a visionary initiative of the Madhya Pradesh government, which aims to make our schools centres of excellence globally, he said.

The aim is to create schools that provide high-quality education through innovative practices and strong community engagement, the minister said. Singh stressed the importance of equipping children with 21st century skills to prepare them for the challenges ahead and noted that these achievements are a testament to the remarkable dedication and efforts of teachers, school leaders, students and the entire community.

Mr Kashyap, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Chaitanya Kashyap visited the school on Friday to congratulate the teachers and students who were celebrating the global recognition. The schools that participated in this category were from countries like the US, UK, Spain, Brazil, Kenya and Thailand. Ryan International School Delhi is also in the running for the World’s Best School in Environmental Action Award for tackling water scarcity and pollution through innovative projects like hydroponics and biogas plants.

He Awards for the best schools in the world The awards are given to schools whose leaders, teachers and communities have demonstrated exemplary leadership and pioneering practices to improve the education of their students and have had a positive impact on their communities, according to an official statement.

These schools are evaluated for the award through a three-stage process, which begins with a review panel and ends with a jury academy that includes global experts. Ratlam’s CM RISE Vinoba School is in the running to win the $10,000 prize for innovation in 2024, he said. Established in 1991 in the urban slums of Ambedkar Nagar in Ratlam, the school, now upgraded to CM RISE school, faced challenges in the form of low enrolment and attendance in its initial days.

Among the innovative practices adopted by the school are a weekly space for professional development initiated by its leaders, the use of online learning materials by teachers for their professional development and their use during classes. Teachers connect with parents virtually and use Google Forms to track class attendance on a daily basis, while structured rewards and recognitions are conducted for teachers based on monthly surveys through Google Forms and regular team-building activities to create a positive work culture, the statement added.
