Ashok Nagar: After Times Network reported that villagers in Kalan Mudra They crossed the river hanging from ropes, the Center Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took cognizance of the matter and sent a proposal to the department concerned for approval of Rs 2 crore for the construction of the bridge.

Scindia said that after it became known that the villagers of Mundra Kalan were crossing the river, the authorities immediately took action. “There are two things that caught my attention. One is that the villagers of Mundra Kalan are crossing the river using ropes. We have taken action against this,” the minister told reporters.

“A DPR of Rs 2 crore has been fixed. I have also sent this proposal to the Prime Minister. My office is working with the PWD department. This should be accepted at the earliest so that we can find a solution to this issue,” he added.

Scindia Statement:

On July 28, Times Network had access to a video of villagers crossing the river by hanging on ropes.

It is noteworthy that many of the villages in Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh are still far from being fully developed and fully equipped with technology and infrastructure. In the video, villagers can be seen crossing the river by hanging on ropes tied to a tree.

The villagers have to cross the river, which is about 40 feet below. To get to the other side of the river, they have to take a detour of 15 to 20 kilometers. There is still no paved road that the villagers can use to get around.

The villagers had requested the regional MLA to construct a bridge, however, they only received guarantees in return.
