Tovino ThomasThe Ajayante Randam Moshanam-starrer ARM (Ajayante Randam Moshanam) has hit the screens. It is an ambitious period drama that also stars Krithi Shetty, Basil Joseph, Harish Uthaman, Surabhi Lekshmi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others. Tovino Thomas, who became a favourite among the audiences thanks to the film Minnal Murali, appears in three different roles – Maniyan, Kunjikkelu and Ajayan in ARM. The film has a brilliant team behind it and has been released in 3D. It is not often that a Malayalam film forays into 3D, even though India’s first 3D film was from the same industry.

#ARM :Impressive concept, but the execution is half-baked. The script lacks the desired impact, which should have been fixed, and the climax is a bit depressing. Technically impressive. Tovino is good. Overall average film. image.twitter.com/G9JrhmZUoa

#ARM Visuals, VFX, BGM and ambience of the first half. The concept is very intriguing and novel. Maniyan is just on another level. Tovino 🔥.
In my opinion, the transition between the three timelines is not well done. Something doesn’t add up. Those “Romancham” moments are missing. image.twitter.com/80WorlIoao

Noticed #ARM 2D
Top-notch production values. VFX, visual effects, and art 👌
Magnificent Tovino.
Decent first half. Better second half.
Good concept.
The script and direction are mediocre. The pace is slow and there are no surprising moments.
Good BGM in parts.
It lacks the impact that family audiences will like.

Tovino Thomas on the 3D release of Malayalam film ARM
Directed by debutant Jithiin Laal, the film will be released in 3D in multiple languages in India on September 12. While one might remember the Malabar The film industry produces India’s first 3D film, something that has not happened in a long time.
“Shooting with 3D cameras is very difficult. It requires more time and effort,” Tovino told mid-day.com ahead of the release of his film.
“But what we’ve done is a 3D conversion. People won’t know if we’ve shot it with 3D cameras or if it’s a 3D conversion because technology has advanced and we already have guidelines for shooting and converting it to 3D, we have to shoot it in a particular way. The director of photography was very conscious of that.”
“Working on a 3D film was the first time the entire team worked on it,” Tovino stresses. “We all put in the work and we put in the effort and I think it turned out really well. The story demands 3D. We want to take people to a particular village called Chiyothikavu, where the story takes place about 300 years ago.”
“The entire story across three generations is set in Chiyothikavu. We haven’t used the 3D element just for the action scenes. It wasn’t the only idea that things would come closer to us in 3D. We definitely have sequences like that, but the idea is to keep people immersed in this world. Even if you are watching a romantic scene or an emotional scene, you are getting a 3D image of it,” he added.
