Bengal Crime News, Vikas Kumar Gupta: These days, there is a protest-rally-agitation phase going on across the state in connection with the RG tax incident. Meanwhile, an incident of sexual abuse of a female musician at a luxury hotel in Kolkata has come to light. The incident took place on Tuesday night at a hotel located on the ring road. Following this incident, the victim first sought help from the hotel authorities and then from the police. Following which the police from Pragati Maidan police station arrested both the accused. The complainant has also been a finalist of a popular television singing competition. The names of the arrested accused were Arun Kumar (60) and Rinku Gupta (43). Arun is an NRI. He now lives in Italy. He also has a house in the Pritampura police station area of Delhi. Rinku is a resident of Bahubazar police station area of central Kolkata. The accused are being questioned.
When and where did this incident occur?
Preliminary police investigation revealed that the victim had gone to the hotel on Tuesday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. This incident reportedly took place there. The complainant told the police that she had attended the programme with her sister and friends. Suddenly, a man in his 60s approached her at the party and started touching her indecently. Another young man was also with him. He was also trying to get close to that old man. The complainant told the police that he and other people accompanying him were shocked by the behaviour of two guests at a luxury hotel. The victim alleges that both of them were not only touching her indecently but also forcing her to dance with the wife of one of their friends.

Both accused of harassing the girl who sang on the show
The victim told the police in her complaint that both the accused repeatedly harassed not only her but also the young artiste who was singing at the show. When they could not be stopped even after repeated attempts, the matter was reported to the hotel security guards. The police at Pragati Maidan police station was also informed. The complainant told the police that after the incident, she asked the hotel authorities for CCTV footage of the incident but they did not provide it to her. Before the police arrived, the hotel security guards asked the two accused to pay the food bill and leave from there. The police later reached the spot and started an investigation and arrested both the accused from the hotel.
Police say the accused are being questioned.
