As per the recent announcement, Indian citizens holding valid permanent residence cards or visas from the United States, the United Kingdom or any European Union country are eligible for a 14-day visa on arrival in the UAE. This update simplifies travel procedures and makes it more convenient for eligible Indian citizens to enter the UAE.
This policy change is a testament to the growing ties between India and the United Arab Emirates, where more than 3.5 million Indians currently reside. It is also seen as an important step to improve travel and business opportunities between the two nations.
Key requirements for visa on arrival:
To be eligible for visa on arrival, Indian travelers must meet the following conditions:
1. Valid Visa or Residency: Travelers must have a valid visa, residence permit or green card issued by the United States, the United Kingdom or any country in the European Union.
2. Passport Validity: The Indian passport must have at least six months of validity remaining from the date of arrival.
3. Duration and Extension: The visa issued on arrival will be valid for 14 days and may be extended for an additional 60 days upon payment of the required fees.
This new policy will simplify travel for Indian tourists, business professionals and expatriates who meet the eligibility criteria, further solidifying the UAE’s position as a top destination for Indian travellers.
