The Supreme Court on Monday refused to interfere in the Centre’s decision to cancel the UGC-NET 2024 exam over alleged document leaks, saying it would add to “uncertainty” and “utter chaos.” A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra took note that the exam will be held again on August 21.

“The exam was held on June 18 and was cancelled on June 19. The exam is now scheduled for August 21 and the petition is challenging the cancellation of the exam and two months have already passed. Considering the petition at the present stage will only add to the uncertainty and utter chaos,” the court said.
