Rahul Gandhi Statement: Members of the main opposition party and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a protest staged in front of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress headquarters in Ahmedabad on Tuesday against “anti-Hindu” remarks allegedly made by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. A clash broke out between the workers and both sides pelted each other with stones. A city police control room official said that following the violent clash and stone pelting, several workers and leaders from both sides were arrested from Paldi area.
BJP workers made serious allegations against Congress
BJP workers accused Congress workers of attacking them during a “peaceful protest”, while opposition leaders accused ruling party workers of indulging in violence. The video of the clash between BJP and Congress workers is going viral on social media. In the video, workers of both parties are seen fighting each other in front of Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, the headquarters of the Gujarat state Congress. Despite attempts by the police to intervene, some people are seen pelting stones at each other.
Police said the situation is under control.
Ahmedabad Joint CP Neeraj Badgurjar said that the police have brought both groups under control. There is peace here. Police personnel have been deployed to maintain peace. The police officer said that CCTV footage will be examined. Appropriate action will be taken after that.

Countering Rahul Gandhi’s statement, workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal entered the state headquarters of the Congress on Monday evening and smeared black paint on the poster of the Congress leader in protest. The main complex was closed but the protesters vandalised Rahul Gandhi’s poster near the entrance of the main building.
