UPSC invites applications for 45 vacancies: Check how to apply for Joint Secretary and Director level posts

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invited applications for posts at the level of joint secretary, additional secretary and director. The commission aims to fill a total of 45 vacancies in different ministries or departments on a contract basis.

Vacancy details

Ten vacancies for Joint Secretary are being announced, including that of Joint Secretary (Digital Economy, FinTech and Cyber ​​Security) in the Ministry of Finance, that of Joint Secretary (Policy and Plan) in the National Disaster Management Authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and that of Joint Secretary (Investment) in the Ministry of Finance.

Other vacancies include Director/Undersecretary of Natural Farming, Organic Farming and Water Management at the Ministry of Agriculture; Digital Media at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; and Advanced Chemical Cell (ACC) battery manufacturing for the automotive sector at the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

Eligibility criteria

For the position of Joint Secretary, candidates need a minimum of 15 years of experience, 10 years of experience for Director level positions and seven years of experience for Deputy Secretary level positions.

The following officials with the above-mentioned experience may apply for these positions:

1. Officials of any State or Union Territory Government already serving at an equivalent level or eligible for appointment at an equivalent level in their cadre, with relevant experience.
2. Persons working at comparable levels in public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies, statutory organisations, universities and recognised research institutes.
3. Individuals working at comparable levels in private sector companies, consulting organizations and international/multinational organizations.

Age limit

The minimum and maximum age limits for the position of Deputy Secretary are 40 and 55 years, respectively. For the position of Director, the age limit is between 35 and 45 years, and for the position of Deputy Secretary, between 32 and 40 years.

Salary

1. The salary of the Joint Secretary officers shall be fixed at the minimum of Pay Level 14 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC (approximate gross salary would be around Rs 2,70,000/- including Dearness Allowance, Conveyance Allowance and House Rent Allowance at the present level).
2. The salary for the post of Director level will be fixed at the minimum of Pay Level-13 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC (Approximate gross salary would be around Rs 2,32,000/- including Dearness Allowance, Conveyance Allowance and House Rent Allowance at the present level).
3. The post at the level of Deputy Secretary will be paid at least at Pay Level 12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC (Approximate gross pay would be around Rs. 1,52,000/- including Dearness Allowance, Conveyance Allowance and House Rent Allowance at the present level).
