More than eight hundred thousand applicants will take the UPSC Main Exam The test, conducted annually by the Union Public Service Commission on Friday, is the second step in the selection process for central services and posts.
Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination venue without a copy of their e-admit card. However, it is necessary to print out the document and carry it with them as the use of mobile phones is not permitted inside the venue.
What features are on the “prohibited” list?
– Candidates must: Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not permitted on the premises. —even if they’re turned off. The list includes “any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage medium” such as a USB flash drive or smartwatch, as well as cameras, Bluetooth devices and more.
– Items such as books and bags will not be allowed into the venue. Candidates must simply bring their Electronic admission cardpen, pencil, photo ID, copies of your own photos, and any other items specified in the instructions.
– Incendiary materials such as matchboxes or lighters are prohibited.
– Candidates are also advised not to bring valuable items into the examination halls or UPSC premises as their safety cannot be guaranteed.
The restricted list will remain in force for UPSC personality tests (interviews) held after the main examination. Violation may lead to disciplinary action, including cancellation of candidature or exclusion from all future selections and even lodging of a police complaint.
“Candidates are advised to reach the examination venue in good time so that their smooth entry into the venue can be ensured after observing the necessary protocol. The candidate should note that as per the current policy of the Commission, the entry into the examination venue is closed 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination session,” explains an FAQ document posted on the UPSC website.
Candidates arriving after the doors close will not be allowed to take the exam.
