The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is likely to release the CSE admit cards soon. The admit card is expected to be released this week through the official website, upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.

Students must bring a physical copy of the admit card to enter the main examination hall.

To sit the main exam, candidates must first pass the preliminary exam which will be held on June 16. The main exam will be held on September 20, 21, 22, 28 and 29, in two shifts, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If there is any discrepancy in the admit card, candidates must contact the commission.

All candidates are required to bring their printed UPSC admit card along with their original photo ID, the number of which is mentioned on the e-admit card at every session to ensure admission to the examination venue.

The exam is being held to fill a total of 1056 vacancies for the CSE for the IFoS. The number was significantly higher than in previous exams, while in 2021 it was 712 and in 2020 it was 796.

  • First of all, visit the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in
  • On the home page, look for the ‘E-Admit Card’ section
  • Select the link ‘UPSC Civil Services Main Admit Card 2024’.
  • Enter the necessary links and the admission card will appear on your screen.
  • You can download your admit card and take a printout for future reference.


What are the details mentioned in UPSC Admit Card 2024?

Here are the details mentioned on your admit card:

  • Name of the candidate,
  • Roll number,
  • Photograph,
  • Signature,
  • Birthdate,
  • Date, time and place of the exam

Candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid ID to the examination venue. Students who do not carry the admit card will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

It is strictly forbidden to bring electronic devices such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices and earphones into the examination hall. Once students pass the main exam, they will move on to the interview stage.
