Urban Co-operative Bank posted net profit of Rs 74 lakh in last financial year: Dilip Mahapatra

Rourkela. Rourkela Urban Co-operative Bank shared its financial situation with the media on Sunday. Addressing the press conference organised at the bank, the bank’s Chairman Dilip Mohapatra said that the bank has made a net profit of Rs 74 lakh till March 31, 2024. Apart from this, the non-performing loans have also been 2.01 per cent, as compared to 4.01 per cent last year. Dilip Mahapatra claimed that the bank has recovered around Rs 5 crore in a year. Talking about members, this number was 21207. The Chairman presented the financial parameters of the bank from the financial year 2020 to the financial year 2023-24. As on March 31, 2020, the bank’s shareholding was 669.25 lakh, while in the financial year 2023-24 it reached 727.81 lakh. In 2020, the number of partners was 21,232, while in the financial year 2023-24 it has decreased to 21,207. In 2020, Rs 13,176 lakh was deposited, while in 2023-24 it was Rs 15,411.40 lakh. Similarly, loans and advances stood at Rs 10,292.07 lakh in 2020, while it reached Rs 11,329.33 lakh in 2023-24. The bank invested Rs 4,815.46 lakh in 2020, which reached Rs 6,278.74 lakh in 2023-24. The working capital in the year 2020 stood at Rs 17,365.68 lakh, while in the financial year 2023-24 it stood at Rs 21,392.93 lakh. The profit and loss of the company in 2020 stood at Rs 46.55 lakh, while in 2023-24 it stood at Rs 197.94 lakh. The net profit (after tax) for the year 2020 stood at Rs 0.51 lakh, while the net profit after tax for the financial year 2023-24 is Rs 74.89 lakh.

No dividend declaration for account holders.

Dilip Mohapatra said that the dividend to the account holders has not been declared yet. On the issue of reduction in the number of employees in the bank, he said that efforts are being made to reintegrate them. Rourkela Urban Cooperative Chairman Dilip Kumar Mahapatra along with Vice Chairman Smita Nayak, Directors included Krishna Patnaik, Ravindra Nath Panda, Sakteswar Pan, Choudhary Vijay Kumar Patnaik, Samarpriya Tanti, Vijay Kumar Pradhan, Shankar Jena and Akshay Kumar Raut attended the press conference. Ananth Kumar Jena, Sathrani Raut, Purnima Kerketa, Ravindra Kumar Pradhan, Sujit Das, Chartered Accountant Rajesh Patnaik, Chartered Accountant Shantanu Kumar Nayak and Managing Director Ravindra Kumar Mishra were prominently present at the press conference.
