Many users find living in Mumbai very expensive. Recently, a person from the United States posted a message on Reddit asking for advice on how to move to Mumbai from the land of opportunity.
In his post, he mentioned that he had received a job offer in India with a salary of Rs 10 crore per year. He wanted to know what kind of lifestyle he could expect in Mumbai with that salary.
The Reddit user also mentioned that he is a single Mexican-American man with around $400,000 (roughly Rs. 3.3 crore) in savings from the sale of his house and $4,000 (Rs. 3.3 crore) per month from a pension he has. This post went viral on Reddit and users responded by sharing their thoughts and experiences on what it is like to live in one of the busiest cities in India.
The Reddit user known as “Senorahlan” completed a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Western Governors University (WGU) in January 2023, graduating with a 3.0 GPA. His Reddit history reveals that he is a disabled Army veteran with 10 years of IT experience in the defense sector, including 3 years as a direct project lead.
In the post, he wrote: “I was recently offered a job that would pay me the equivalent of $130,000 (INR 10,000,000) in central Mumbai. I wanted to see what I could expect in terms of lifestyle there.”
“I would come as a single male (Mexican-American). I will save about $400,000 from the sale of my house and receive $4,000 a month from a pension I have. Any ideas on where I could live? What I could do? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!” he added.
