US presidential polls: Donald Trump rejects another presidential debate with Kamala Harris | World News

The possibility of a second meeting between the two US presidential candidates before Election Day faded on Thursday when former President Donald Trump announced he would not participate in another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

He claimed he won Tuesday’s debate with Harris despite some polls showing otherwise.

“When a boxer loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are ‘I WANT A REMATCH.’ The polls clearly show that I won the debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Radical Left candidate of the Democrats, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a second debate,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The former president said issues like immigration and inflation were discussed “in great detail” in both his Tuesday night discussion with Harris and his June debate with President Biden.

Trump, in a strong attack on the Biden-Harris administration, said they have “destroyed” the country.

“She and corrupt Joe have destroyed our country, with millions of criminals and mentally ill people coming to America without any kind of control or vetting, and with inflation bankrupting our middle class. Everyone knows this, and all the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe. It was discussed in great detail during the first debate with Joe and the second debate with Comrade Harris,” said the former US president.

“She did not show up for the Fox debate and refused to participate on NBC and CBS,” Trump said in his post, adding: “KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE FOR THE PAST ALMOST FOUR YEARS. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”

Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are the official presidential candidates of their respective parties, having accepted the nomination at conventions earlier this year.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5 this year.

It is worth noting that the first presidential debate between President Biden and Trump took place in June, in which the former’s performance raised concerns about his age. After this, Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris.

It should be noted that Trump and Harris debated on Tuesday this week. It was their first meeting since Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee in late July, The Hill reported.

The final showdown between Trump and Harris took place during the presidential debate hosted by ABC News on Tuesday (local time).
