Sonbhadra: In a shocking incident, a married couple was allegedly murdered at their home in Robertsganj town of Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning. Following information, local police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the morgue of a nearby hospital. A case of murder has been registered at Robertsganj police station and an investigation has been initiated.
Superintendent of Police Yashveer Singh identified the deceased as Dharmendra Kumar Singh (47) and his wife Manju Devi (43), who were found dead on the first floor of their house. The door of their house was locked from outside and the police had to force open the door to enter the house.
The SP said that while leaving, the killers had locked the main door from outside and also took away the DVR of the CCTV camera installed in the house. The murder incident came to light after Sunil’s brother-in-law Dharmendra Kumar Singh arrived at his house around 11 am Sonbhadra.
During the preliminary investigation it was found that a sharp weapon was used to commit the crime and after further investigation it will be clarified which weapon was actually used in the crime.
Sunil used to have a business on the ground floor and the couple lived on the first floor.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, the Sonbhadra SP said.
Further legal action is being taken on the matter.
