40,000 candidates to be recruited through UPSSSC, says UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Saying that his government has been conducting recruitment processes in a transparent manner, he attacked the previous government saying that those who have never contributed positively will inevitably feel distressed when there are breakthroughs and since they are being exposed for their failures, they resort to spreading false propaganda.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister as he took a swipe at the opposition in his speech after distributing appointment letters to 647 forest guards and wildlife wardens, along with 41 young engineers selected for the UP pollution control board, at a function on Tuesday at the Lok Bhavan, the chief minister’s secretariat.

“We should question them about their actions while in power. Why was the recruitment process not transparent? Why did the judiciary have to repeatedly intervene to stop the recruitment process?” the CM said, highlighting that when his administration took office, there were 155,000 vacant police posts, which were promptly filled within the designated time frame. Besides, 164,000 teachers were recruited at various educational levels. He said six hundred and fifty thousand youths got jobs under his government.

He criticised the previous governments and said, “Before 2017, governments had no recruitment policy and it was done through bribes, while appointments were made through the back door. The lists of candidates were issued by different families. If a person from such a gang faces problems, their leader will also be affected. When they face problems, they often try to deflect blame. Even a criminal may initially deny his guilt, but when presented with evidence, he admits his mistakes. The public continues to reject them, showing their disapproval of past practices.”

Reflecting on the situation before 2017, CM Yogi highlighted that among the 688 people appointed today, over 124 are women. He criticised the recruitment practices before 2017, stating that fair recruitment was not possible, and there were widespread doubts about the commissions and boards of that time. “Their work and selections were under suspicion, and many of them are still under CBI investigation. These people did not act with integrity,” he said.

“From the beginning of the selection process to the distribution of appointment letters, there has been no need for recommendations or bribes. You must have seen that there is no scope for unfair means to be used to influence the examination, and the government expects you to maintain the same level of integrity in your work,” he told the selected candidates.

The CM highlighted the efforts of the state government to ensure a transparent appointment process, and underlined the implementation of the Prevention of Unfair Media in Public Examinations Act, 2024.

The event was attended by Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr Arun Kumar Saxena, Minister of State KP Malik, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Department Sudhir Kumar Sharma, and Managing Director of Forest Corporation Sunil Chaudhary.
