Various events will be organised at temples on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami in Bhagalpur, preparations have begun

Janmashtami 2024: Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated with great pomp in over 70 temples and Thakurbari in Bhagalpur on Monday, August 26. On this occasion, bhajan-kirtan and various other events will be organised in various Thakurbaris of the city. Maha Aarti programme will be held at Budhanath temple. Preparations have started from home to market for the arrival of Shri Krishna Lalla. The enthusiasm among the devotees is palpable. Somewhere Ashtyam will be organised, somewhere bhajan-kirtan and somewhere Bhandara. Various types of offerings containing naivedya along with special worship will be offered on the birth anniversary of God in different Thakurbaris.

Sales of cribs and clothing increased in the market

Due to Janmashtami, the sale of cradle and dress for Bal Gopal has increased in the market. Flutes, peacock turbans, matki, etc. related to Lord Shri Krishna, which are attractively decorated, are also sold. Apart from this, the fruit market has also started to come alive. In fact, many devotees observe a fast with fruits on this day.

Bhajan-kirtan will be organized at Budhanath and Jagannath temples.

The birth anniversary will be celebrated with pomp at Budhanath and Jagannath temples. Bhajan-kirtan will be organised here. Mahant Shivnarayan Giri, manager Valmiki Singh etc. are involved in this matter. Pandit Saurabh Mishra of Jagannath Temple located at Naya Bazar said that there will be a Prasad distribution programme along with bhajan-kirtan.

The court will be decorated at the Khatu Shyam temple, outside artists will perform bhajans

Baba’s court will be decorated at the Khatu Shyam temple located at Mandroja and at the ancient Khatu Shyam temple, Chunihari Tola. There will be bhajan-kirtan at 8 pm. Outside artists will decorate the bhajan gathering.

Havan and Kirtan will be held on Janmashtami

Havan Yagya, sermon and bhajan-kirtan will be held at Arya Samaj Temple, Deepnagar. Pradhan Prakashchandra Gupta will preside over the programme. There will be a symposium here in the name of Sahitya Safar.

Installation of statues at Burari Purani Dyodhi on 26th and Ashtayam Sankirtan on 27th.

On the occasion of Janmashtami, idols of Lord Radha-Krishna, Balbhadra and Garuda will be installed at the Kanhaiya temple located in the old portico of Barari on Monday at 8 pm. Trustee Gopaldutt Thakur said that along with the installation of the statue, Adhivasa Puja will be performed. After the puja, cowries will be plundered in the traditional manner. Women, youth and children of the locality will participate in this. There will be bhajan-kirtan till late in the night. Ashtyam Sankirtan will begin for 24 hours on Tuesday.

Grand procession of Shri Krishna to begin from Hussainabad for the first time, hundreds of people to participate

The Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival will be celebrated on August 26 under the joint auspices of All India Yadav Mahasabha and Yadav Development Committee. For the first time, a grand procession of Shri Krishna will be taken out. People of the Yadav community from different parts of the state will participate. The Kirtan group of ISKCON will also be present in the procession. District I president Subhash Chandra Yadav and state youth executive president Ranjan Kumar Yadav said that many people from Bhagalpur including Banka, Munger, Khagaria and Purnia will participate.

Janmashtami to be celebrated at Sankat Mochan Darbar, Ghantaghar

Lord Krishna’s Janmashtami will be celebrated at Sankat Mochan Darbar on Monday at 12 midnight and Akhand Sankirtan will begin. Before this, Sai Baba’s palanquin ride will take place in the evening. On the second day, Tuesday, there will be a Mahabhandara from 11 am to 6 pm. After this, Akhand Sankirtan will be completed.

The event will also be held here.

Janmashtami will be organized at Radha Krishna Thakurbari, Chunihari Tola, Sabour, Radha Krishna Thakurbari Chhoti Haat, Kanhaiya Temple Barari, Bal Subodhini Pathshala Gali, Aliganj based Radha Krishna Thakurbari, Kupeshwarnath Temple, Dudheshwarnath Mahadev Temple, Town Hall etc.
