Vinesh Phogat’s petition dismissed: After the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indian fans were in for a big surprise. Star wrestler Vinesh Phogat had filed a case with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for the silver medal. His hearing has already taken place, but the date of the verdict was continuously postponed.

But now the decision in this case came on Wednesday (August 14). The CAS has rejected Vinesh’s appeal. This means that he will not get the silver medal now. We told you that earlier the decision in this case was supposed to be given on August 13, but news came that the date of the decision was extended to August 16. But now this decision was announced even earlier.

Disqualified before the gold medal match.

After all, what is this matter and how did it start? In fact, during the Paris Olympics, Vinesh secured the silver medal by making it to the 50kg freestyle wrestling final after playing 3 consecutive matches on August 6. The gold medal match was to be held on the evening of August 7, but Vinesh was disqualified that very morning because she was 100 grams overweight before the match.

Following this, Vinesh filed a case with the CAS. His first demand was that he be allowed to play the gold medal match. But citing rules, his demand was immediately rejected. Following this, Vinesh appealed and said that he should be given a silver medal in this event. Now this appeal has also been rejected.
