The star fighter’s lawyer Vidushpat Singhania Now he has given some news that could be reassuring for fans.
In an interaction with India Today, Singhania said the fact that the CAS has extended the deadline for the verdict means that they are seriously thinking about Vinesh Phogat’s case, and if the arbitrator is doing so, it means it is good news for them.
“We all believe that. Yes, the ad hoc CAS tribunal has a 24-hour deadline. The fact that they have extended the deadline for issuing their verdict more than once means that they are thinking about this matter seriously. If the arbitrator is thinking about it, it is good for us,” said the lawyer.
However, Vidushpat Singhania also said that the success rate at CAS is very low and it is very difficult to get a ruling in their favour. However, what they have asked the arbitrator to do could prove to be a historic decision.
“I have taken many cases before CAS in the past. The success rate in CAS is very low. In this case, we are asking for a historic decision from the arbitrator. It is a bit difficult, but let us hope that something big happens. Let us all pray for Vinesh. Let us hope that she gets a medal. Even if she doesn’t get one, she is a champion,” the lawyer added.
