Have you ever heard of legume chips? Recently, a video showing how to make these fried delights from scratch at home went viral on Instagram. In the @spicymoustache video, the vlogger is seen combining leftover rice, peas, chopped herbs and a little water. Clarifies that we can also use other legumes instead of peas. Later, it shows batches of mixtures also made with chickpeas and lentils. Mix the ingredients to make a smooth and thick paste. Spread the paste between two parchment papers and use a rolling pin to flatten the paste into a thin layer. The next step is to dehydrate it or cook it in the oven for a long time. Once it dries completely, you break them into smaller pieces and fry them in hot oil to get crispy chips. Check out the full recipe post below:

The video has racked up more than 3 million views so far. In the comments, many users expressed interest in trying the recipe. Several liked the idea of these “unique” chips. However, this snack did not seem new to many Indians as it reminded them of papad.
