Virat Kohli‘s poor run of form continued after he failed to impress on his return to red-ball cricket. The veteran batsman scored just 23 runs in two innings of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai but managed to register a big milestone during the second innings.
Kohli, 35, broke down Sachin Tendulkar Another record as he became the fastest cricketer to reach 12,000 home runs in international cricket. Kohli needed just 243 innings, 24 fewer than the former captain, to reach this historic milestone on Friday.

Meanwhile, Kohli’s poor run in red-ball cricket continued as he suffered an unfortunate dismissal for LBW in the second innings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday. Surprisingly, Kohli opted not to accept a DRS decision which later showed a clear spike on replay.
Kohli was looking for a good rhythm for a much-needed big innings as he scored 17 runs in 37 balls with the help of two fours. India remains in the lead in the first Test after the bowlers dominated the second day and bowled out the visiting team for 149 runs in the first innings. India will begin a crucial third day with an impressive lead of 308 runs and with seven wickets in their hands in their second innings.
