Indian cricket has been blessed with some of the greatest players in history. Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar were among the early heroes of Indian cricket before Sachin Tendulkar India has carried the burden of expectations for decades. The arrival of the destructive Virender Sehwag, the talented Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan under the brave captain Sourav Ganguly made India a brute force in international cricket. Today, India is one of the best teams in international cricket and much of the credit goes to the players of the past who inspired youngsters to take up the sport.

We tried to compile an all-time Indian XI across all formats that would have been unbeatable in cricket. The first name that was on the list was the great Kapil Dev, who led India to a World Cup victory in 1983, which was instrumental in cricket becoming so popular in India. Then there was Sachin Tendulkar, the world’s greatest batsman and the greatest cricketer of today. Virat KohliSehwag also found a place in the team because of the fear factor he had. Sehwag was one of those players who had the ability to take down the opposition in a matter of overs. Sehwag was placed to open with Rohit SharmaImagine the carnage that would ensue if the two players were to set off together. Yuvraj Singh, one of the finest cricketers to have played for the country, also deserved a place given his contribution in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.

MS Dhoni was chosen as captain and it is not a surprise given the tremendous success India achieved under his tenure. As for the bowlers, Zaheer Khan carried the burden of Indian bowling for decades and deserved a place. Along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, India’s pace attack would rattle the best batting line-ups. Harbhajan Singh was the only bowler chosen in the team.

Of all time India’s invincible eleven: Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Kapil Dev, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami
