Vistara-Air India merger from November 12: Changes in Vistara Club explained

Indian airline Vistara will cease its independent operations after November 11 and will be fully integrated with Air India.

From September 3, customers will not be able to book Vistara flights after November 11. The airline’s loyalty programme, Club Vistara, will also be merged with Air India’s Flying Returns programme.

What will happen to my Vistara Club membership?

Club Vistara will be merged with Air India’s Flying Returns programme. Until the integration is completed, your Club Vistara membership will remain active. Thereafter, your Club Vistara account will be migrated to Flying Returns.

How will my level status be affected?

Your tier will be recalculated based on the points accumulated from both programs. You will at least maintain your current Vistara Club tier or may even upgrade if you qualify based on the combined points. After migration, Flying Returns rules will apply to your membership.

What happens to my CV Points and Level Points?

On the day of migration, your CV points and Tier points will be transferred to the Flying Returns programme on a 1:1 basis. These points will remain valid for at least one year from the date of migration, even if they were scheduled to expire earlier.

What happens to my existing reservations using CV Points or vouchers?

All future bookings made using CV Points or free flight vouchers will be transferred to Flying Returns. You and your nominees will receive revised flight details after migration. Any changes to existing bookings will be subject to Flying Returns rules.

Will my vouchers still be valid after the merger?

Yes, all valid and unused One-Class upgrade vouchers and free flight ticket vouchers will be transferred to Flying Returns with their current validity. The use of these vouchers will be governed by the Flying Returns programme rules.

How can I link my Vistara Club account with Flying Returns?

To ensure a smooth transition, please follow these steps to link your accounts:

  • Log in to your Vistara Club account.
  • Go to “My Account” and select “Link Accounts.”
  • Enter your 9-digit Flying Returns member ID and submit.

If your account details match perfectly in both programs, you will receive a confirmation message and a confirmation email. If there is a discrepancy in any of the details, you will be prompted to update specific fields to ensure the match before the accounts are linked.

What happens if I don’t link my accounts before the merger?

If your Club Vistara account is not linked to a Flying Returns account at the time of the merger, we will automatically merge your accounts if the key details match. If they do not match, a new Flying Returns account will be created and your CV points, Tier points and vouchers will be transferred to this new account.

How will duplicate accounts be handled?

Flying Returns requires each account to have a unique phone number and email address. If duplicate contact details are detected during migration, or if you have multiple accounts, you will have the option to merge them into your main account.

What should I do if I haven’t joined Flying Returns yet?

If you haven’t joined Flying Returns yet, you can sign up now and then follow the steps above to link your accounts.
