Vjaitra Air Mobility partners with Trouvé Innovation Hub to manufacture a hydrogen-based air taxi in India

In another step towards introducing air taxis in India, Vjaitra Air Mobility has announced its strategic partnership with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. to develop a hydrogen-based 5-seater air taxi.

Indian startup Vjaitra Air Mobility, a division of drone maker Darsh Dronobotics Systems, aims to build air taxis capable of covering distances of up to 600 kilometers and address the need for travel between crowded metropolitan cities across different states.

As part of this partnership, Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. will support Darsh Dronobotics Systems in raising funds to build a full-scale prototype of the hydrogen air taxi with the aim of providing a greener, quieter and more efficient alternative to traditional modes of travel.

Beyond passenger transport, air taxi initiatives are also being explored for ambulance services, VIP escort and disaster recovery operations, helping to improve urban air mobility and emergency response capabilities.

The Urban Air Mobility (UAM) project in India is already underway and the Ministry of Aviation has set up several technical committees to study the feasibility and formulate policies on the issue.

A few months ago, US-based InterGlobe Enterprises and Archer Aviation announced plans to launch an all-electric air taxi service in India by 2026.

The proposed service aims to transport passengers from Connaught Place in the heart of the national capital to the neighbouring city of Gurugram in Haryana in just 7 minutes.
