Watch: ‘Bharat Dojo Yatra soon,’ says Rahul Gandhi sharing video of martial arts session on National Sports Day

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on August 29 shared footage of jiu-jitsu (a form of martial arts) performed at camps during his last leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra earlier this year and said that a ‘Bharat Dojo Yatra’ will be held soon.

Dojo generally refers to a martial arts training hall or school.

“During the Bharat Jodo Nyay YatraAs we traveled over thousands of miles, we had a daily routine of practicing jiu-jitsu every night at our camp. What started as a simple way to stay fit quickly became a community activity, bringing together fellow yatris and young martial arts students from the towns where we were staying. The video, titled ‘seekhoge thoda martial, thoda gentle art’, features Rahul Gandhi, a Aikido black belt, and his coach, Arun Sharma, a jiu-jitsu black belt, practicing martial arts during the 6,700-plus-km journey, teaching children along the way.

“Our goal was to introduce these young minds to the beauty of the ‘Gentle Art,’ a harmonious blend of meditation, Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido and non-violent conflict resolution techniques,” he said. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha saying.

“Our goal was to instill in them the value of transforming violence into kindness, giving them the tools to build a more compassionate and safe society,” Gandhi said.

On this National Sports Day, she said she wanted to share her experience with people, in the hope of inspiring some of them to take up the practice of this “gentle art,” Gandhi added.

National Sports Day It is celebrated annually on August 29, in commemoration of the anniversary of the birth of the Major Dhyan Chandone of the iconic figures in the history of Indian sport.

Gandhi embarked on a more than two-month-long Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra that began on January 14, Manipur and ended in Mumbai. It was a hybrid trip which was the second phase of his earlier trip from Kanyakumari tocashmere padayatra, which he performed from September 2022 to January 2023.
