Recently, Guinness World Records released a video capturing the creation of the largest string cheese ball, weighing a whopping 636.2 kg (1,402.2 lbs).
This enormous feat was created by the Government of the State of Oaxaca and the Reyes Etla Municipality in Oaxaca, Mexico, on July 19, 2024.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, more than 10,000 litres of milk were used to make the cheese.
The video captures the team’s synchronized effort to make the cheese ball from scratch and the participants layering the cheese balls to form the massive cheese ball.
From small strips of cheese wrapped together, the ball grew until it reached its record size.
The previous record, set in 2023, involved 80 workers in Pijijiapan, Chiapas, who made a 558-kilogram ball of cheese using 6,000 liters of milk.
It is said that it was made with 6,000 liters of milk and weighed around 558 kilos. The string cheese was none other than quesillo, commonly known as Oaxaca cheese.
