If you visit the shopping complex found on Lindsay Street in Dharmatala, don’t forget to stop by Nahoum’s and Sons, a bakery that has been delighting Kolkatans with its decadent plum cakes and rum balls for the past 120 years.
Chandni Chowk in Delhi
Chandni Chowk was founded in the 17th century by Emperor Shah Jahan’s daughter Jahanara. The market’s name, meaning “Moonlight Square”, comes from a pond in the centre of its square-shaped bazaar that reflected the moonlight, giving the bazaar its distinctive name.
This Mughal-era bazaar is famous for its traders selling silver, food, local textiles and spices. To this day, locals and visitors from around the world praise the quality and reasonable price of the goods.
Attar Bazaar, Kannauj
