‘We’re heading to World War III,’ says Donald Trump, slams ‘sleepy Joe’ Biden’s Middle East strategy

Former US President Donald Triumph has launched a scathing critique of the Biden AdministrationObama’s approach to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. His comments come at a time when tensions are rising between Israel and Hezbollahmarked by a series of military actions and reprisals.

Trump’s criticism of Biden and Harris

In a recent post on X, Trump questioned President Joe Biden’s involvement in Middle East diplomacy. He noted, “Who is negotiating for us in the Middle East? Bombs are falling everywhere! Sleepy Joe is sleeping on a California beach, brutally exiled by the Democrats, and Comrade Kamala is on a campaign bus tour with Tampon Tim, her very poor choice for Vice President. Let’s not have a World War III, because that’s where we’re headed!”

Trump’s criticism extends to the vice president Kamala Harriswhom she criticized for his response to the conflict. Earlier, Harris had spoken at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), reaffirming her support for Israel’s right to self-defense and recognizing Palestinian suffering.

According to The Washington Post, Harris said: “I will always defend Israel’s right to defend itself and I will always ensure that Israel has the ability to defend itself, because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that was caused by a terrorist organization called Hamas.”

Trump disapproved of Harris’ stance, suggesting that it could lead the US into a more dangerous situation. On Truth Social, he stated: “There will be no future with Comrade Kamala Harris, because she will lead us into a Nuclear World War III! The tyrants of the world will never respect her!”

Recent developments in the Middle East

The context for Trump’s remarks is a major escalation of violence in the Middle East. Israeli forces recently carried out extensive airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, which Israel said were necessary to prevent Hezbollah from launching missiles into Israeli territory. Israel Defense Forces Approximately 100 Israeli Air Force fighter jets reportedly attacked and eliminated thousands of Hezbollah rocket-launching guns targeting northern and central Israel.

Tensions have risen in the region following Israel’s military actions, which Israel said were aimed at preventing Hezbollah from launching attacks. Hezbollah denied these accusations, calling them “baseless,” and responded with its own attacks, calling its retaliation the “first phase” of its response to Israel and hailing it as a “complete success,” according to CNN.

In response, Hezbollah has launched retaliatory strikes, which it has described as the “first phase” of its response. The group has called its actions a “complete success” and denied Israeli claims that there is an imminent threat.

Israeli emergency measures

In light of the ongoing violence, Israel has declared a 48-hour state of emergency. This declaration allows the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command to issue restrictions aimed at protecting civilians. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant explained: “This is a ‘special situation on the home front’ that allows the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command to issue restrictions. In emergency situations, the legal term ‘special situation’ is used to give authorities more authority over the civilian population, simplifying attempts to protect them.”

The IDF statement detailed its actions: “Approximately 100 IAF fighter jets attacked and eliminated thousands of Hezbollah rocket launchers, which were intended to be fired immediately toward northern and central Israel. More than 40 Hezbollah launch areas were targeted. We will do whatever is necessary to defend our civilians and the State of Israel.”

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, warned Lebanese citizens in southern Lebanon to stay away from Hezbollah-controlled areas. He said: “Hezbollah has just launched more than 150 projectiles from Lebanon into Israeli territory. We attack terrorist infrastructure, they attack civilians.” Hagari also indicated the possibility of future Hezbollah attacks, including rockets, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

During a press conference, Hagari ordered Lebanese citizens in southern Lebanon to move away from areas where Hezbollah operates, noting: “We warn Lebanese citizens who are in southern Lebanon that Hezbollah is preparing to fire widely into Israeli territory near their homes. They are in danger. We attack and eliminate Hezbollah’s threats. Anyone who is near the areas where Hezbollah operates must move away from them immediately.”

Hagari also spoke about the possibility of future Hezbollah attacks: “In the near future, Hezbollah will launch rockets, and possibly missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, towards the territory of the State of Israel. Accordingly, ‘life-saving’ instructions from the Home Front Command will be distributed in the various regions. The Home Front Command will update the areas in which one must remain near the protected area or within the protected area.”
