JPSC: Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) conducts recruitment exams for various civil service posts in Jharkhand in which you can apply for various posts of Jharkhand Administrative Service (JAS), Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Registrar and other Grades A and B. JPSC: What is the selection process in Jharkhand PCS?

In order to get a job in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), candidates must know that to get selected in this exam, you will have to go through three stages, only then you can become a Jharkhand PCS officer, let us know what are the stages for this exam candidates have.

  • Firstly, the main exam in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) is a preliminary exam and a written exam consisting of two papers, General Studies Paper 1 and Jharkhand-specific General Studies Paper 2. Only the candidates who pass it will qualify for the next stage i.e. the main exam.
  • Only those candidates who clear the preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the main examination and the main examination will have 5 papers which include: Paper 1 – General Hindi, Paper 2 – General Studies, Paper 3 – Essay, Paper 4 – Optional Subject 1, Paper 5 – Optional Subject 2. Candidates should note that in Jharkhand PCS, both the main and preliminary examination are objective type assessments.
  • The final stage is the interview, in which the suitability of the candidates for the positions is assessed through a personal interview.

Finally, based on the marks obtained in the main examination and interview, a final merit list is prepared, which determines appointment to various posts within the Jharkhand state government.

What is the age limit for JPSC exam?

35 years for General/EWS Category.

Backward classes I and II can apply for Jharkhand PCS up to 37 years.

SC/ST (both male and female) up to 40 years.

People with a reference disability of up to a maximum of 10 years in their respective category.

Women (General Class/Extremely Backward) Maximum up to 38 years old.

Former military personnel up to a maximum of 5 years in their respective category.

SC/ST (both male and female) maximum up to 40 years.

JPSC: The eligibility criteria for Jharkhand PCS is that candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute and note that candidates who are in the final year are not eligible to apply unless they apply before the application deadline. Also, candidates must be Indian citizens and residents of Jharkhand to avail the reservation benefits.
