What will be the eligibility criteria for Railways Group D Exam 2024?

Eligibility Criteria for RRB Group D Examination: The Railway Recruitment Board has released the notification for Group D Exam 2024. Along with the notification, information regarding the eligibility criteria of the candidates for the Group D exam has also been shared. According to the RRB, the age limit of the candidates appearing for the Group D exam should be 18 to 33 years. Relaxation in the maximum age will be given to categories reserved in age limit.

The RRB has shared the revised eligibility criteria. It mentions various criteria including nationality criteria, minimum educational qualification and physical qualification for candidates applying for various departments of Railway Group D – Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or Technical departments. During this time medical tests will also be conducted on the candidates selected by Railways for document verification.

Educational qualification

The minimum and maximum educational qualifications for the Railway Group D examination have been fixed by the Railway Recruitment Board. This time, modifications have been made in the educational qualification in the examination of the candidates applying. The candidates must have the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) awarded by the National Vocational Training Council along with the 10th class passing certificate. Apart from this, the candidates having the 10th class certificate and ITI certificate are also eligible for the Group D examination.

Nationality/Citizenship Criteria

Nationality criterion is also an important aspect for Railways Group D exam. This exam to be conducted at the national level includes various eligibility criteria, which will be mandatory for the candidates. Candidates for RRB Group D exam must meet one of these categories of nationality or citizenship:

• Citizen of India.

• Bhutanese citizen.

• Nepalese citizens.

• Tibetan refugees settled permanently in India before 1 January 1962.

• People of Indian origin who have come from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zambia and Vietnam with the intention of settling permanently in India.

Candidates applying for Railways Group D examination will also have to clear a physical efficiency test and a medical test along with citizenship and educational qualification criteria. Candidates can view detailed information related to this on the RRB website.
