Work with commitment, dedication to make India developed nation by 2047, Mandaviya tells youth

Union Youth Minister of Foreign Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandavia On Monday, he urged young people to work with commitment and dedication to succeed and triumph. India a developed nation by 2047. Addressing the “Impact with Youth Conclave 2024” here on International Youth Day, the minister said that the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat – ‘MY Bharat’ portal launched by the Centre will become a one-stop platform for the youth.

This year’s International Youth Day, with the theme “From clicks to progress: digital pathways for youth to sustainable development”, highlights the importance of digitalisation and the key role that young people play in this transformation.

“This is a country with a population of 140 crore people. It is our collective responsibility to make India a developed nation. In a situation like this, the youth have a special responsibility,” Mandaviya said.

He stressed the importance of youth in realising the vision of a developed India by 2047, the centenary of independence, and said the government will spare no effort to ensure financial security of the young generation.

The central government is making efforts to empower the country’s youth by creating opportunities for them, he said.

“I found two or three commonalities in successful people, which I adopted in my life. One common characteristic was the commitment and dedication with which they worked. Commitment and dedication, coupled with hard work, and the fourth is the goal… Set a goal. Work with commitment and dedication to achieve the goal, and nothing can stop you from achieving success,” the minister said. “Today, on International Youth Day, commit to be successful for the country and for yourself. If you move forward with this goal, you will be successful, and we will make India a developed nation when it celebrates the centenary of its independence,” he said. The Union minister said around 1.5 crore people have registered on ‘MY Bharat’, which will become a one-stop platform for the youth.

“In the coming days, the MY Bharat portal will become a one-stop platform for youth, helping them determine their future. It will help them with career opportunities, registrations and applications,” Mandaviya told reporters later.

MY Bharat users will be able to connect with national and international systems, he said.

“The volunteers will visit 5,000 college campuses and deliver a presentation on MY Bharat and how youth will benefit from the internship scheme and other initiatives announced in the Union Budget,” he said.

Mandaviya said that in the last two months, she interacted with 12 to 15 youth groups and consulted around 500 youth to seek their suggestions to make MY Bharat stronger.

The Union Minister urged the youth to prioritise their commitment to the nation along with their careers.

UNICEF Representative in India and UNICEF YuWaah Board Co-Chair Cynthia McCaffrey highlighted the importance of involving young people in global action.

“International Youth Day is a reminder of the immense contributions young people make to their communities and the world,” he said.

“We are committed to improving youth access to training, volunteering, innovation, entrepreneurship and other economic opportunities through our deep and long-standing partnership with the Government of India and by harnessing the potential of youth through digital platforms like YouthHub,” he said.
